We tend to take our body for granted. Would we have a better relationship with our body if we were more appreciative?

Consider this for a moment: the body constantly does marvelous work for you.

How well do you treat your body? Do you treat your body as well as you treat your best friend? In many ways, your body is truly a very wonderful friend.

Expressions of gratitude help your mind and body to relax. Saying grace before meals is thankful to God and kind to your body.

When you say and feel the thanks, your muscles can relax and you express a positive attitude. Thanking your body before you eat makes it easier for your body to absorb and digest your food.

Do you ever ask you body what it would like for dinner?

Try it sometime. You’ll be surprised.

Eat Slowly

Nowadays we tend to scarf down our food and rush off to the next thing on our busy schedule.

If the body has trouble digesting, it’s hindered in getting the nutritional benefits to the cells in your body.

Your body needs to absorb the nutrition from the food you eat. To do that, the food has to be mixed with your digestive juices.

Did you know that most of the digestive juices necessary to digest your fruits and vegetables are not in your stomach? Rather, they are only in the fluids in your mouth.   

So, to be kind to yourself, it’s best to enjoy eating slowly.
